Ivan Andres García (1998) lives and works in Guatemala City.
His education began in 2015 through visual arts workshops at institutions such as La Fototeca, Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas Rafael Rodríguez Padilla, Creatorio Artístico Pedagógico, Proyecto Imaginario, and Síntesis Espacio. In 2017, he completed the Photography Studies and Photographic Project Management program at La Fototeca. Over the course of his career, he has served as an assistant to Byron Mármol, Juan Jose Estrada, Andres Vargas, and Irene Torrebiarte.
In 2018, García was selected for Proyecto Imaginario Latinoamérica, an annual study program for photographers and visual artists organized by Proyecto Imaginario, an artist platform established in 2015 dedicated to education, creation, and circulation. That same year, he was featured in the publication Prisma Vol. II. His work explores social and philosophical themes through visual evidence drawn from his immediate environment.
